This is a short tribute to a young farm pig we took in as a rescue and lost about 6 months later.  She came to us with a bad infection and had no functioning immune system.  All efforts to save her were futile. Her name was Petal and she came from a factory farm dead pile in Alabama.  When she arrived, she immediately adopted one of our large, female farm pigs named Baby as her surrogate mother. Baby lives separately from the other farm pigs because she has problems with her social skills.  The two struck up a fantastic relationship for the short time Petal was with us.
